Pest Control For Lizards?

Please help me. I live in Florida and there are massive amounts of lizards where I live…it’s like a mummy tomb when I clean every week. I find dried up lizards underneath my rugs and such. They fall out of the linen closet and scare the heck out of me. But sometimes they are alive and cute and I try to catch them…however they are too fast and disappear into my air conditioning vent…where they die, rot and smell.
I suspect they are squeezing though the windows…is there anything that can keep them from the windows or proof the windows to keep them out?
I don’t want to kill them…I just want them to stay out of the house…so that my life and their life will be easier…

    make sure the weather stripping is good around the doors. There will be countless areas that they can get in but that will be a good start

    why not just get some decent windows fitted, and you can buy mesh to fix to open windows, in order to stop bugs and things from getting in, should you wish to have your windows open?
