Has Florida Housing Prices Decreased?

Im in NY and thinking about moving down to FL. Are the houses still going for at least 250K for an average home 3 bed 2bath? How are taxes and homeowners ins? Auto ins cost? do you need a pest control and are bugs pretty bad down there? Florida is beautiful but i am worried about hurricanes.

    Depends on where you want to live- is how much you can expect to pay for a house, I live about 60 miles north of orlando in Ocala. We have some neighborhoods (middle Class) that can be as high as $300,000 down to $150,000. Depends upoon the size of that 3 bed, 2 bath you want, Auto insurance full coverage for my wife and I is around $110 a month. Roaches can be bad - a pest control company is needed for the prevention of termites. We have a state sales tax but no state income tax which is nice. Property taxes and insurance depend on the value of the home. As for hurricanes- you about thjose when they come-> keep an action plan and everything is ok. With hurricanes you can get about a days warning- more than enough time to evacuate. I was born and raised here and 2004 was the worst year for hurricanes ever. It all goes in cycles.
